Founder-led video: a clip strategy for B2B SaaS founders

B2B founders can build a steady stream of short video by clipping the recordings they already make: product demos, webinars, customer calls, investor updates and podcast appearances. Each 30-to-90-second clip should answer one buyer question or share one strong point of view.

Founder-led video works because buyers trust people. A clip of the founder explaining why a feature exists, or how a customer solved a problem, often builds more trust than a polished brand video. The goal isn't to go viral; it's to show up consistently in front of the right people.

Start with the questions your sales team hears most. Each of these is a clip: "Why do teams switch from [competitor]?", "How long does implementation take?", "What does [term] actually mean?" A founder answering them in 60 seconds is credible and searchable.

Use customer voices. With permission, clip a moment from a customer call or case study where they describe results in their own words. A short customer quote with captions is often the most persuasive asset you have.

Pull opinion moments from talks and podcasts. A clear contrarian point, a prediction, or an honest lesson from a failure gets shared and remembered. Keep the setup short and lead with the claim.

Distribute where your buyers spend time. LinkedIn is the primary channel for most B2B audiences, with YouTube Shorts for search and X for industry conversation. Post the same clip with a caption tailored to each platform, and reply to comments quickly, since early engagement helps reach.

Measure pipeline, not just views. Add a link to a demo page, a short form or a lead magnet, and ask new leads how they found you. A clip with few views can still bring a qualified lead.

OptimaClip helps a busy founder do this without an editor: upload a webinar or call recording, review the suggested clips, correct captions for product names, and schedule a week of posts in one sitting.
