How to repurpose a conference fireside chat into clips

A conference fireside chat repurposes well because the format is conversational and the guest usually drops two or three sharp, quotable lines and one good story — and those are exactly what a 40-second clip needs. The job is finding them in 40 minutes of stage talk.

Clip the opinions and the stories, skip the setup. Fireside chats have a lot of 'tell us about your background' and 'what's next for the company' filler. The clippable moments are when the guest says something they'd get pushback on, or tells a specific anecdote with a point.

Use the moderator's questions as free hooks. Opening a clip on the moderator asking a crisp question sets up the guest's answer with no writing required.

Stage recordings vary in quality. If you have a proper multi-cam recording, auto-reframe to the speaker. If it's a single locked wide shot of two chairs, a 1:1 or 4:5 crop centered between them holds up better than a 9:16 crop that includes a lot of empty stage.
