Studio Editor

OptimaClip Studio is a timeline editor you drive by chat. It works on clips you've already rendered: open a finished clip, describe the edits you want, and the assistant rebuilds the timeline. When you're happy, one click renders the whole thing into a finished MP4.

Getting in

Studio is on the Creator and Agency plans. From the dashboard, open any finished clip and click Open in Studio, or go to Studio and start a project from a recent clip. Your clip becomes the first segment on the timeline.

What you can do

  • A drag-and-drop timeline — every element (each caption, text, graphic, sound, music, voiceover) gets its own row. Drag it along, grab either edge to trim, and split anywhere at the playhead. The main video track is magnetic, so clips stay locked together.
  • Sequence clips — add more of your rendered clips, reorder by dragging, split as many times as you like, trim on the timeline, change speed.
  • Transitions — crossfade, dip-to-black, slide, wipe, zoom; per cut or all at once.
  • Bring in your own media — upload video, audio, music and images (or drop a file straight onto the timeline) and use them as clips, b-roll, overlays or a music bed.
  • Record a voiceover — narrate straight to picture from inside the editor; it lands on its own timeline row.
  • Music & SFX — a bundled royalty-free library, or your own uploads. Music auto-ducks under the voice and fades in/out.
  • Text & graphics — title cards, lower-thirds, arrows, highlight rings, timed and animated.
  • Captions — restyle the burned-in spoken captions (font, color, size, position, one-word pop).
  • Aspect ratio — 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, or 16:9.

Using the assistant

Type what you want: “crossfade every cut”, “add a hook title for the first 3 seconds”, “score it with upbeat music at low volume”, “make the captions bigger and yellow”. The assistant only changes the timeline through validated edits — it can't touch anything else in your account. Every change is undoable, and the project autosaves.

Preview vs. render

The in-browser preview is an approximation for fast feedback. The final render is an exact, single-pass compile on a dedicated pipeline with automatic retries and failover — the same reliability standard as clip rendering, on a completely separate path so it never affects your normal clip jobs.

Cost

Editing, the AI chat, and the preview are free. A finished render costs 2 credits + 1 per minute of output (rounded up), charged only when the render succeeds. A 40-second cut is 3 credits; a 6-minute compilation is 9.
